Kimtron Inc announced today that it has acquired and relocated the assets of Nora-Med Inc. a small international medical x-ray tube reload company located in St-Constant, QC Canada. The asset purchase will allow Kimtron to quickly expand its in-house services to include the reload and repair of medical diagnostic and other rotating anode x-ray tubes.

Kimtron CEO Peter Cawley states; “The acquisition provided us with the tools, equipment and process knowledge necessary to enter into a market formerly outside our areas of expertise. It fits in nicely with our existing repair operation and will employ the same easy-to-do-business-with policies that have separated us from other service providers over the past 20+ years. These differentiators include; phone calls answered by a live person, no-charge evaluations, loaner equipment, rapid turnaround and, most recently, real-time online RMA status reporting. We’re excited about this business unit and look forward to serving our new international base of Independent Service Providers and end-users.”

Vinnie Romano, Kimtron Systems Engineer & Repair Department Manager, stated; “This is a great addition to our repair department and gives us the opportunity to serve hundreds of more customers annually. While the technology and requisite skill sets are similar to our existing NDT (Non Destructive Testing) and Security x-ray tube repair operation, medical diagnostic tubes require extensive post-repair testing and records’ keeping since the application is human-based. With a quality-minded company like ours, the challenge to bringing on any new operation lies in the painstaking process of developing ISO-compliant work instructions and repair procedures which must be done up-front to ensure consistent quality.”
